Card Colour Sorting

Card Colour Sorting

Download FREE printable here

Turn your Little Omo flashcards into a fun, interactive colour-sorting activity. These sorting boards help children practise colour recognition, matching, and categorising while building focus and fine motor skills through play.

Simply lay the boards out and invite your child to match each flashcard to the correct coloured box (you can match by the card border, background colour, or a colour you spot in the illustration).

Games you can play

  • Classic Sort: Place each flashcard into the matching colour box.

  • Colour Hunt: Pick a colour board and find as many flashcards as possible that include that colour.

  • Speed Sort: Set a timer (30–60 seconds) and see how many cards they can sort correctly.

  • Memory Flip: Turn cards face down, flip one at a time, and place it on the matching colour board.

  • Odd One Out: Put 3 cards in one colour box and 1 that doesn’t match — can they spot the mistake?

  • Count & Compare: After sorting, count how many cards are in each colour and compare: most/least/more/less.

  • Describe & Match: You describe the card (“Find the one with…”), and they match it to the right colour box.
